Swordfish "Stringbag" Mk II
Fleet Air Arm

This has always been one of my favorite planes of WWII. Incredible to me how successful it was. Back in the days when Woolfman (I miss him!) was one of the only 3dz masters he made a Swordfish model. Moggy (another Swordfish fan) has recently updated it to include a propeller, corrected hardpoints and a cockpit view. He also crafted a torpedo option, which he may yet work on.

Woolfman's original skin had an "H" in a yellow square. This was the common marking of the Canadian Air Force Swordfish. I made a slight change to the original pcx to give a more typical FAA marking. You will find those tpc files in their own folder with the pcx files. The files necessary for the torpedo option are also in their own folder. They are not ECAP compatible and thus, will make unpredictable changes to your other aircraft selections. They are easily removed by simply opening ECAP, which will automatically overwrite the files.

Even without the torpedo option ECAP allows the use of rockets and bombs. Rockets were very commonly used by the Mk II for ship interdictions.

Many thanks to Woolfman, Moggy and Charles for making this plane available in EAW.

Updated again by Captain Kurt. This now has its own *p.3dz so it does not conflict with any other skins and can be used with Snapshot. 10/20/01
